Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said in a radio interview that running back Thomas Rawls has a fibula injury that will cost him at least a few weeks. A week ago, Carroll was optimistic about Rawls’ return, but on Monday, he said the injury was worse than expected.
Fantasy implications: The Seahawks will continue with Christine Michael as their starting running back for at least a few more weeks. Michael had a strong performance in Week 3, rushing 20 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the Seahawks’ 37-18 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Michael also had two receptions for 5 yards.
The next three weeks will see the Seahawks travel to face the New York Jets, return home to face the Atlanta Falcons, and go on the road to face the Arizona Cardinals. Michael is moving firmly into RB1 territory, averaging 5.2 yards per carry. If he can stay healthy, we would not be surprised to see Michael as Seattle’s starting running back the rest of the season.
