The Baltimore Ravens announced the re-signing of running back Justin Forsett on Monday, just two days after the team released him as part of their final preseason cuts. Entering his third season with the Ravens this year, Forsett should still have a significant role in the team’s offense in 2016.
Set to turn 31 years old in October, the running back played in 10 games for Baltimore last season and finished with 151 carries for 641 yards and two touchdowns. Forsett also caught 31 passes for 153 yards in 2016.
Fantasy Impact: His ninth round ADP this year shows that fantasy owners still feel the Ravens running back can put up some decent numbers in 2016. The release of Forsett last Saturday by Baltimore seemed a little puzzling at first, but it seems like the move was just made in order to move a few of their other players to injured reserve.
The Ravens come into this season with a number of talented players in their offensive backfield. Forsett figures to still be in the mix for 2016, but this may be one of the last years that he presents any sort of value for fantasy owners.
