Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett announced that he will be the team’s starter when they play the Buffalo Bills this weekend, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley on Wednesday. The team just re-signed Forsett on Monday after releasing him for a brief moment last Saturday.
The Ravens’ running back has been the team’s top rusher for the past two seasons, but there is talk that Forsett’s carries could be spread out among all the running backs on the team’s roster in 2016.
Fantasy Impact: For 2016, Forsett will likely start the year at the bottom of most most fantasy rosters, if not on the waiver wire. Coming off a 2015 season where he only averaged 64 yards per game, it is not hard to understand why Baltimore may start including different running backs in its backfield more frequently this year.
But If he is able to stay healthy (only 10 games in 2015), Forsett should still be a solid contributor on the Ravens’ offense. However, his shot at becoming a top fantasy running back may have already passed by.
