Charles Johnson limited in practice, fantasy value still low

The Vikings’ wide receiver is still expected to start this weekend despite his latest injury. We explore the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson was limited in the team’s practice on Wednesday due to a quad injury according to the Pioneer Press’ Chris Tomasson. Johnson is listed on the Vikings’ most recent depth chart as one of the team’s top two receivers.

Fantasy Impact: For 2016, Johnson looked like he could be a solid option for fantasy owners to keep on their bench and use occasionally throughout the season. But now that Minnesota is without quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the entire year, the receiver's projected stats for the season may have taken a dip.

The Vikings have been waiting for Johnson to break out for a couple seasons now. He has had a history of injuries throughout his short NFL career that have prevented that from happening and his latest injury is not a positive by any means.

It does not seem as though this injury is too serious for fantasy owners to worry about, but Johnson’s chances of starting on a fantasy roster during the early part of the season were already slim at best.
