DeMarco Murray will be the lead back vs. Vikings, hoping for fantasy redemption in 2016

The Titans’ new running back will get a majority of the team’s carries on Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

Tennessee Titans running back DeMarco Murray will be the featured back this Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings according to Titans head coach Mike Mularkey on Wednesday. Mularkey also added that the Titans will use rookie running back Derrick Henry to give Murray a breather every now and then this weekend.

Murray was traded to Tennessee back in March after a season with the Philadelphia Eagles. After leading the NFL in rushing yards in 2014, Murray only rushed for 702 yards last year with the Eagles.

Fantasy Impact: Many fantasy owners think that Murray is going to rebound in 2016 and go back to producing like one of the league’s top running backs. Based on the Titans wanting to run an offense that features their rushing attack this year, it is hard to see Murray struggling for a second straight season.

If he is not in fantasy lineups this weekend, his owners must have a good reason. After a few games have been played this year, fantasy owners may be regretting that they did not take Murray in their drafts.
