The Texans and Seahawks played the game of the year on Sunday afternoon. Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson had a back-and-forth offensive duel for the ages, with Wilson and the Seahawks ultimately coming out on top 41-38.
Offensively, both teams did well. The Seahawks accounted for 479 total yards:
However, if you add up Russell Wilson’s 452 yards passing, plus his 30 yards rushing, that’s 482 yards that he is credited for on the afternoon.
So... what gives?
Well, the Seahawks had two rushers get negative yardage in the game. Thomas Rawls finished the game with six carries for -1 yard, and Tyler Lockett had one carry for -2 yards.
But there’s still six yards left over.
A further look at the box score, and you can find four carries for six yards by J.D. McKissic. But Wilson was sacked twice for six yards, therefore putting the team total at 479.
Weird things always happen to the Seahawks and during their games. After Sunday’s thriller, it honestly wouldn’t be complete without some type of weird stat.
