The Kansas City Chiefs’ offense has been the best in the NFL this season. A big part of that has been because it doesn’t turn the football over — but that changed in the first quarter against the Broncos Monday night.
In the red zone, Alex Smith pitched it to Tyreek Hill, who then started looking to pass it. He threw an absolute lob into the hands of Darian Stewart for a terrible interception.
It really doesn’t get any easier than this:
The Chiefs have been so efficient on offense that it was their first turnover since the first play of the season.
On that play, Kareem Hunt fumbled it on his very first NFL carry, but things have worked out for him since then as the NFL’s leading rusher.
With a defense as good as Denver’s, the Chiefs can’t afford to give away gems like that.
