Raiders vs. Dophins live stream: How to watch 'Sunday Night Football' online

The Raiders and Dolphins will collide on Sunday night.

The Oakland Raiders and the Miami Dolphins are both coming off huge blowout losses in Week 8. But this past week hasn't been a good one for the Dolphins, who traded their best offensive threat, running back Jay Ajayi, to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth-round pick on Tuesday. Now, Miami will have to find ways to score points against a Raiders team that can light up a scoreboard at any time. This Sunday night showdown starts at 8:30 p.m. ET, and NBC (livestream) will broadcast the action.

At 3-5, the Raiders are slowly falling out of the race for an AFC West crown. This offense, led by quarterback Derek Carr, is inconsistent at best. Oakland only scores 21.1 points per game. Luckily for the Raiders, though, the Dolphins rank dead last in total offense heading into Week 9. Oakland's offense must score points early and often.

At 4-3, the Dolphins are in third place in the AFC East. But shipping Ajayi to the Eagles hurts this offense. Out of the 1,767 yards of total offense the Dolphins accumulated this season, Ajayi is responsible for 532 of those yards. Miami must rely on a total team effort to win games this year. On a positive note, after missing last week due to a rib injury, quarterback Jay Cutler is expected to return against Oakland.

Raiders vs. Dolphins News

As of last week the Raiders had already set a new NFL record by being the only team in league history to go without making an interception over the first seven games of a season. Last week against the Bills, they extended that record to 8 games.

Until the streak ends, the questions will continue as to when and how they will break through. Jack Del Rio gets a smirk on his face whenever he’s asked about it and last week joked about burning out the jugs machine on the DB’s to get them to hold onto the ball.

It’s strange to think somehow the Raiders DB’s, who were among the league leaders in interceptions last season, suddenly forgot how to catch the ball. It seems more likely it has to do with scheme.

Wednesday Marshawn Lynch re-joined his team in Sarasota Florida following his one-game suspension that caused him to miss the team’s game in Buffalo.

“He’s a physical guy,” said head coach Jack Del Rio. “He brings passion for the game. Those are things that we welcome back.”

While he was away, the team called up 7th round rookie running back Elijah Hood as depth at the running back position. Hood was active for the game, but didn’t see any time on offense. He was relegated to 8 special teams snaps.

Replacing Jay Ajayi will not be a one man job. However, I do firmly believe that Kenyan Drake will be considered the number one running back going forward. Possessing an explosiveness that cannot be taught, Drake just has big play potential every time he touches the ball. Adding to this, Drake is also a Adam Gase draft pick, something he shares with no other running back on the roster. That said, Drake will not be able to do it all by himself. Look for Damien Williams to see a significant amount of snaps on offense while De’Veon Smith could potentially be promoted from the practice squad and feature as the Dolphins short yardage and goal line back.

Raiders vs. Dolphins prediction

The Raiders will win this game with ease. Unlike the Dolphins, Oakland can score points. Miami's defense will need to make plays to help out its offense — but the Raiders offense will overwhelm the Dolphins. Six of our eight experts agree on the Raiders in their Week 9 picks, while OddsShark’s computer sees Miami winning.
