Seahawks K Blair Walsh missed 3 field goals in the first half vs. Washington

He’s the first kicker in three years to have such a bad first half.

A week after beating the Houston Texans, 41-38, things aren’t running nearly as smoothly for the Seattle Seahawks offense. At halftime, the team trailed Washington 7-2, although much of that had to do with the struggles of kicker Blair Walsh.

Walsh missed kicks from 39, 44, and 49 yards in the first two quarters, becoming the first kicker since 2014 to miss three field goal attempts in the first half:

Walsh, 27, has had an up-and-down career in the NFL. He broke on to the scene as a pro bowler during his rookie season in 2012 and had another good year in 2013. But he began to have struggles at times, including a 2014 game against the Detroit Lions when he missed all three of his field goal attempts in a 16-14 loss.

His worst moment came in Jan. 2016 when he shanked a 27-yard field goal in the playoffs that would’ve defeated the Seahawks.

Now he’s a player for Seattle and has done well so far prior to Sunday. He entered Week 9 with 12 makes on 13 field goal tries, but can’t seem to kick it through the uprights against Washington.
