The Detroit Lions played from behind against the Ravens all afternoon, and didn’t exactly done themselves any favors.
The Ravens were faced with a third-and-7 from the Detroit 33, and the Lions only sent out nine players on the field for the down, which Baltimore converted on:

They might have been saving a player for this touchdown, which was completed to linebacker Nick Bellore:
The Lions’ lack of players is an extreme opposite of Washington, who lined up with 13 (!) players on the field this past Thursday against the Cowboys:

The day after the 44-20 loss, Lions head coach Jim Caldwell blamed himself:
Caldwell said it was "horrendous" to have 9 men on the field, takes the blame for 3rd down issues again from yesterday

Just stick to 11 players, y’all. It works better than 9 and is legal, unlike 13.
