On Monday, the 141th edition of the Westminster Dog Show will get underway. The festivities start on Saturday, Feb. 11 with the Meet & Compete as well as the 2nd Masters Obedience Championship.
For the first time ever, dogs will have some company. Although they will not be competing, cats will also make an appearance at the event as part of the 8th Meet the Breeds session taking place early on Saturday.
The main attraction, the WKC Dog Show, is a two-day event that begins on Monday Feb. 13. It will take place at Piers 92/94, with breed judging across hound, toy, non-sporting, and herding groups kicking things off in the morning. The event will close out with the ceremonial Best in Show, which begins at 6p.m. on Tuesday night.
This year’s dog show will include three new breeds: the pumi, the American hairless terrier, and the Sloughi.
The show will be televised on FS1 and will be available for streaming on the FOX Sports GO app with a TV provider login.
