Colin Kaepernick posted a video on Instagram to try and convince Turkish Airlines to allow a plane to fly food, water, and aid to the people of Somalia Wednesday. On Friday afternoon, Kaepernick posted a video happily announcing that the plane was granted.

The group Kaepernick is working with is Love Army for Somalia. A GoFundMe page was created to raise money to purchase food, water, and other supplies to help the people of Somalia.
Jérôme Jarre, who is an entertainer, created the page. It raised over $340,000 within six hours of it being posted. Their goal listed is $1 million. Along with Kaepernick and Jarre are Ben Stiller, Juanpa Zurita, Chakabars, and others.
Ben Stiller’s charity, Stiller Foundation, is being used to order and receive the funds, according to the GoFundMe page. They plan to give rice, vegetable cooking oil, nutritional biscuits, flour, sugar, and porridge as food items. They plan to fly 60 tons of supplies on Monday, March 27.
Kaepernick’s football future is still unknown, as he has yet to sign with a team in free agency. It’s clear he’s not wasting his time while he’s waiting to find out what the future holds, though.
