The Raiders’ move to Las Vegas was approved at the NFL owners’ meetings on Monday in Phoenix. Out of the 32 teams, 31 voted in favor of the move. The Raiders are slated to start playing in Las Vegas during the 2020 season.
On Monday, team owner Mark Davis said in a statement, “My father always said, ‘the greatness of the Raiders is in its future,’ and the opportunity to build a world-class stadium in the entertainment capital of the world is a significant step toward achieving that greatness.”
That stadium is going to come, in a few years, though.
Their current lease in Oakland runs for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, leaving their 2019 status up in the air. Davis said that the team could stay in Oakland for the 2019 season, but if they don’t, here’s a few places that they could play during the 2019 season.
Qualcomm Stadium - San Diego, Calif.

The Raiders playing a season in the Chargers old house seems kinda cruel, but are the people of San Diego going to complain if they have a home team for a season right now? Probably not.
Levi’s Stadium - Santa Clara, Calif.

They could share a home with their Bay Area rivals for a season. This one doesn’t seem likely because even the 49ers don’t have a great relationship with them, so why spend a season having more problems than you need?
Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum - Los Angeles, Calif.

The Rams are playing at the Coliseum until their stadium in Inglewood is complete, which should be done in 2019. The Raiders would have the stadium to themselves (as far as NFL teams go) so it wouldn’t be overly crowded with USC also taking the field.
California Memorial Stadium - Berkeley, Calif.

It’s just a 30 minute drive from the old stadium, and seats over 62,000 people for football games. This one might make the most sense, especially if Mark Davis actually feels bad for the people of Oakland.
Stanford Stadium - Stanford, Calif.

Not quite as close as Cal’s stadium, but it’s still relatively close. It seats over 50,000 people, and because of that and the location it may not be as ideal, but hey, it’s Stanford.
The Alamodome - San Antonio, Tex.

The Raiders were rumored to have looked at San Antonio as a possible relocation site before ultimately settling on Las Vegas. The Alamodome is a good venue that can seat up to 72,000. Texas has plenty of pro football, but San Antonio is a good sports town that would undoubtedly support the Raiders for a season.
