The New York Knicks aren’t playing any music, videos, or providing in-game entertainment for the first half of their game against the Golden State Warriors in Madison Square Garden.
No wonder it's so quiet in here. Thank you NBA & Knicks. No bells & whistles, just basketball. pic.twitter.com/oLJZXRG04r— Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) March 5, 2017
Melissa Etheridge sang the national anthem acapella, the starting lineups were announced without music, and the arena is filled only with the sounds of horns, the announcers, and whistles. It feels incredibly uncomfortable.
MSG is going old school and playing no music, video or in-game entertainment for the first half. This is what it sounds and looks like: pic.twitter.com/PxYJp1CpIt— Ohm Youngmisuk (@NotoriousOHM) March 5, 2017
For now, fans are filling the time with chatter, but it is the Knicks and they are playing against the Warriors. The clear sound of roaring boos is inevitable.
