It’s official — the boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is happening on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
McGregor and Mayweather have both confirmed the fight on their personal social media accounts:

McGregor’s announcement came Wednesday afternoon via tweet, which includes a photo of Floyd Mayweather Sr., whom McGregor will not be fighting. McGregor definitely chose this photo just to emphasize Mayweather’s age. That is his style of course. What’s an announcement without a little shade to go with?
Regardless, the fight is now official after long negotiations on Aug. 26 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This of course is the same arena in which Mayweather fought Manny Pacquiao, which broke live-viewing records and made more than $72 million.
Mayweather confirmed the match with his own post on Instagram, using what looks to be an official promotional video:
It will be available on Showtime pay-per-view.
It’s happening. It’s really happening! For real this time.
After YEARS of talking trash, Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will finally fight for real.
This is their Beef History.:
