By now you’re used to LaVar Ball saying things that either make you laugh, or raise your eyebrows. So it’s no surprise that he had something to say when ESPN’s Jeff Goodman spoke to him and Lonzo prior the start of the draft.
Goodman asked LaVar whether he knew Lonzo would be drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers. LaVar said, “I told you — from the words of Zeus, Jesus, everybody said he’s gonna be a Laker. They told me before they told y’all.”
Lonzo seemed to find it pretty funny himself:
LaVar’s no Adrian Wojnarowski or Marc Stein, but those are some good sources to have in getting some intel.
Lonzo only worked out for the Lakers leading up to the NBA Draft, which he did twice. We’ve also been hearing reports for some time now that the Lakers had zeroed in on Lonzo as their choice at No. 2.
If Lonzo somehow doesn’t go to the Lakers, LaVar might need to check his sources.
