The Sacramento Kings have traded the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NBA draft to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for picks No. 15 and 20, according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal allows the Kings to add two lottery players while the Trail Blazers move up to select Gonzaga center Zach Collins 10th.
Collins had a solid freshman season at Gonzaga averaging 10 points on 47.6 percent shooting from three-point range. But he averaged only one three-point attempt per two games with the Bulldogs in his lone season in college.
The Blazers add a stretch big man and solid finisher next to a core of Damian Lillard, C.J. McCollum, and Jusuf Nurkic. Collins, while one of the most efficient players in college basketball, had a tendency of being foul-prone.
For the Kings, it’s uncertain who they will take with the 15th and 20th picks. But Sacramento has the potential to add two rotational pieces to a rebuilding roster.
More to come.
