The Little League World Series is now in full swing, and after the first two days of introductory action in Williamsport, Penn., Saturday brings us our first slate of elimination games.
This is a double-elimination tournament, and Saturday’s four games feature the eight teams that lost on Thursday and Friday. Three of the four games will be televised by ESPN, with ABC televising one contest. All four games can be streamed online through WatchESPN.
The game on ABC is the 3 p.m. game at Lamade Stadium, featuring the Mid-Atlantic team from Jackson, New Jersey taking on the Great Lakes squad from Grosse Pointe, Michigan. New Jersey scored four runs in the final inning on Thursday but fell to Connecticut, 7-6. Michigan lost their opener to Texas, 5-1.
The losing teams on Saturday are eliminated from the tournament, but are not quite finished. There are two consolation games scheduled for Monday and Tuesday to ensure that every team in the Little League World Series plays at least thee times.
