Browns attempt to convince fans Brock Osweiler is a good quarterback with training camp hype video

It was a good video, but it was also Brock Osweiler.

The Cleveland Browns are coming into the 2017 season much better off than they were in 2016, at least from a roster standpoint. One of the positions that hasn’t really improved is quarterback.

The Browns traded for Brock Osweiler from the Texans in March. They took on a contract that was considered the worst in the NFL, after Houston signed him to a four-year, $72 million deal.

Monday, they made what was an attempt at a hype video for the quarterback using training camp highlights.

Folks, Brock Osweiler was a capital B Bad quarterback in 2016. In 14 starts, he went 8-6, which isn’t terrible. Throwing just shy of 3,000 yards with 15 touchdowns and 16 interceptions, however, is.

He somehow managed to throw a fumble seven yards in a game against the Broncos last season.

The Browns also have Cody Kessler, who went 0-8 in his eight starts, and they drafted DeShone Kizer in the second round of the 2017 NFL draft out of Notre Dame.

They are options, but we don’t know how much better or worse they are. At this point, the most hope the Browns have lies with Kizer, who also just happens to have a badass name.

The video is nicely produced, but to try and sell Brock Osweiler as a quarterback who’s going to lead the Browns to a level of success that the city of Cleveland has been thirsting for for decades is not the move. Especially with training camp highlights.

No matter the circumstances, I genuinely hope Brock Osweiler lives up to training camp hype video standards. The Browns deserve it.
