Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson’s sprained right thumb was upgraded to fractured, and he will miss several games, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, though he is expected to return from injury before the end of the month.
Thompson suffered the injury in Golden State’s 109-103 loss to Minnesota Sunday. The incident occurred in the final seconds of the first half when he swiped down on Jeff Teague’s drive to the rim, only to grab his thumb in pain moments later.

Thompson’s absence compounds the Warriors’ injury struggles
Stephen Curry played in only two minutes of Golden State’s narrow March 8 victory over the San Antonio Spurs before twisting and spraining his right ankle. He’s been sidelined for now and will be re-evaluated March 20. The Warriors have gone 0-2 since he went down.
Curry also threw a monster birthday party, and well, just take a look at the injury report for their next game.

The Warriors will be fine. Thompson will be fine. Curry will be fine, and they’ll probably cruise through the playoffs until their inevitable Western Conference Finals matchup with the Houston Rockets. They just caught the injury bug at an inopportune time. It happens to the best of us.
