The Washington Capitals were busy celebrating their first Stanley Cup in franchise history with a parade in D.C. on Tuesday, but still found a way to show support for the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Caps took out a full-page ad in the Las Vegas Review Journal to congratulate the Golden Knights on a successful inaugural season that ended with a defeat in the Stanley Cup Final.
Here is what the ad looks like:

In the photo used along with the message, Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury can be seen shaking hands with his Caps counterpart, Braden Holtby. As Caps fans might remember, MAF was a member of the Stanley Cup-winning Pittsburgh Penguins teams that sent the Caps home in the playoffs in 2009, 2016, and 2017. This year, the Caps came out on top.
Despite coming out on the losing end of the Stanley Cup Final, the Golden Knights’ debut season was an unqualified success.
