Roger Federer is an eight-time Wimbledon champion and is the current defending champion in this event. The veteran will try to score a ninth Wimbledon title over a talented field of competitors this July.
Federer is a +150 betting favorite to win the Wimbledon Championship in London at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The 36-year-old has advanced to the finals in five tournaments this season, winning three of those events including picking up his 20th career major title with a victory in the Australian Open.
As he did last year before winning at Wimbledon, Federer took the French Open and clay season off to rest up for his best surface in grass season.
While Federer is a deserving favorite, there may be more value to be had on Rafael Nadal at +500 on the tennis odds or Novak Djokovic at +650.
Federer and Nadal have combined for each of the last six major titles in tennis, each winning three apiece. Nadal is coming off another dominant showing in earning his 17th major championship with a win at the French Open. The Spanish veteran has won four tournaments so far in 2018 and is a two-time champion at Wimbledon.
Novak Djokovic is a three-time winner at Wimbledon. Djokovic won only two tournaments in 2017 and is still looking for his first win in 2018, coming up just short in the Queens Club event last week in a loss in the finals to Marin Cilic. The 12-time major champion has not been in top form over the last year or so but is always a threat to turn things around.
Other contenders on the men’s side include Alexander Zverev (+800), Andy Murray (+900), Marin Cilic (+1200), and Juan Martin Del Potro (+1200).
On the women’s side, Serena Williams is going off at +500 to win the eighth Wimbledon title of her illustrious career. She currently sits just behind two-time Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova (+450) to win the tournament and just ahead of defending Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza at +700 on the board.
Other potential contenders on the tennis betting lines to win at Wimbledon this season include Simona Halep (+1000), Angelique Kerber (+1100), Karolina Pliskova (+1200), Maria Sharapova (+1200), Madison Keys (+1200) and Sloane Stephens (+1200).
