Giannis Antetokounmpo is reviewing snacks on his Twitter account

New, comment

This is brilliant.

Giannis Antetokounmpo must be bored. While the Warriors are on the brink of sweeping the Cavaliers for their second straight NBA championship, Antetokounmpo and his Bucks are watching from home after a first-round exit at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

There are many ways to spend your free time, and Antetounmpo has more options than most human beings. But he’s choosing the simplest route of them all: Tasting and reviewing American snacks he hadn’t ever tried growing up in Greece.

First was a corndog

Corndogs aren’t my favorite thing, but they are a snack that you can say with 100 percent certainty started in America. Antetokounmpo must have enjoyed it, judging by his caption “Man God Bless America.”

Next up was Kool-Aid

This time he let the suspense build. He tweeted that he’d be trying Kool-Aid for the first time:

Then he took his first sip in the middle of Game 3 on Thursday:

Finally, we have Funyuns

Following suit, Antetokounmpo issued an announcement that he’d taste-testing Funyuns first:

Then he tasted them for the first time while getting a pedicure on Thursday:

What next?

A few suggestions? How about American cereals, like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Frosted Flakes and Honey Bunches of Oats? How about food from a specific restaurant, like Henny Wings from Dallas BBQs, or lemon pepper chicken wings from Wingstop?

The list is endless, and since Antetokounmpo has already started trying some foods, there’s no telling what he’ll eat next. He’s ever started a hashtag for his social media campaign. I guess we’ll have to sit around and see #WhatsNextForTheFreak next time.
