A Q&A with Lucas Hann of SB Nation’s Clippers site Clips Nation.

What needs to happen for this to be an enjoyable season for Clippers fans?

Being good and winning games never hurts. But for a lot of Clippers fans looking at a pretty new team after six years of teams that were really, really similar, it'll be nice to have a fresh, new on-court product to watch. As long as new additions like Patrick Beverley, Milos Teodosic, and Danilo Gallinari bring some excitement and the Clippers meander towards a middle-to-low playoff seed, I think fans will have a good year.

Guards Patrick Beverley Austin Rivers Lou Williams Milos Teodosic Jawun Evans
Wings Danilo Gallinari Wesley Johnson Sam Dekker Sindarius Thornwell Jamil Wilson
Bigs Blake Griffin DeAndre Jordan Willie Reed Montrezl Harrell Brice Johnson

What makes Clippers fans most excited about this year? What makes Clippers fans most nervous?

The roster turnover is the most exciting and nerve-racking part of this team. On the one hand, there's the potential that good chemistry could create a unit that's greater than the sum of its parts. On the other hand, it's definitely within the realm of possibility that the fit could be clunky, some weaknesses (wing defense!!) are exposed, and the team could end up missing the playoffs. That was never really a concern in years prior.

What storyline might a national audience be missing about the Clippers?

The potential resurgence of Blake Griffin. He's still talented, but a few injury issues have lowered his output in recent years and trained him to play cautiously. With Chris Paul gone, Griffin will be forced to step up his offensive production. If the Clippers are good enough as a team, it wouldn't shock us to see him back on some MVP ballots.

Why should neutrals pay attention to the Clippers this year?

This team will be fun, if nothing else. They might be poor defensively, but a frontcourt of Gallinari (one of the league's most efficient all-around players), Griffin, and Jordan (two of the league's most explosive finishers) should be electric offensively.

Give them the best passer in the world in Milos Teodosic, some bench guards who can get hot, and backup frontcourt players who can run the floor and finish lobs, and this at least should be a pleasant watch.

What's your prediction for the season?

46-36, No. 7 seed in the West.
