Oregon State's Eric Moreland suspended indefinitely

The Beavers will be without their best interior player for an indefinite period of time thanks to an undisclosed violation of team rules.

Oregon State head coach Craig Robinson announced after Thursday night's loss to Arizona State that sophomore forward Eric Moreland and freshman guard Victor Robbins have been suspended indefinitely for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

"We'll just say suspended for now and we'll find out exactly how long they're suspended for violation of team rules," Robinson said during his postgame press conference. "I wish they weren't, but life happens to these young guys."

Robinson added that the issue in question came up right before the game.

Moreland, the Pac-12 Player of the Week for Dec. 17-23, is averaging 10.8 points and a team-leading 11.1 rebounds per game. He has seven double-doubles on the year and is widely considered to be the Beavers' best interior defender.

Robbins has appeared in nine games and played a total of 63 minutes.

Though Robinson was vague about the suspension, he said that he does expect the much-needed Moreland to return to the team at some point.

"He'll be back, I've been told," Robinson said. "But I don't know when.'
