The San Diego State Aztecs had two shots at sending Saturday's game against the Air Force Falcons into overtime. Neither connected, and the Falcons scored a 70-67 home upset over the No. 22 Aztecs on Saturday.

San Diego State fell behind by as many as 12 points in the second half, before the team worked its way back in the game on the merits of Jamaal Franklin's 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. But though the Aztecs tied the game in its final 90 seconds, it could never take the lead.

Down 68-66, Franklin had two free throws to tie the game with 51 seconds remaining. He missed the first and made the second. After a long possession, Air Force's Kamryn Williams was fouled with 19 seconds left, and he hit both free throws to make the score 70-67.

Franklin missed a 3-pointer with five seconds left, and J.J. O'Brien controlled the offensive rebound. James Rahon missed a game-tying three as time winded down, and Air Force had held on to win.

Air Force had an opportunity to take control of the game early on its home floor. Justin Hammonds hit a three with eight minutes until halftime to give the Falcons a 27-17 lead, but that ended up their largest lead of the day. San Diego State stayed consistently within five and seven points until early in the second half, when the Aztecs scored nine straight points to take a 39-37 lead with 17:18 to play.

Michael Lyons finished with 20 points and five rebounds for the Falcons.
