The 2013 NCAA Women's Tournament gets going on Saturday with Connecticut as the only No. 1 seed in action on the first day of play. The Huskies will host WAC Tournament-champion Idaho at 1:30 p.m. ET, as well as the game between No. 8 Vanderbilt and No. 9 Saint Joseph's, with the winners to meet on Monday.
Not every top seed gets to host its pod of games. The 12th-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs will be at home when they face No. 5 Iowa State. The survivor of that game will face either No. 4 Georgia or No. 13 Montana. Both underdogs are closer to home, and Gonzaga could get get home games all the way to the Final Four with the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight hosted in Spokane Arena.
Other Saturday highlights include Colorado and Kansas facing off in a battle of former Big 12 foes, and Tennessee hosting Oral Roberts.
The rest of the big names play on Sunday with Baylor, Stanford, and Notre Dame all in action on the second day. Brittney Griner and top-ranked Baylor headline the day, and will cap the schedule off in primetime against Prairie View A&M at 7:30 p.m. Stanford and Tulsa precede Baylor at 5 p.m., while Notre Dame faces Tennessee-Martin at the same time.
