The Ohio Valley Conference 2013 Tournament kicked off on Wednesday. While there were only two games and not a lot of big names involved, it still makes for some interesting basketball. Every game from now on is "win or go home."
No. 5 Morehead State 73, No. 8 Tennessee-Martin 66
The game was actually somewhat competitive, as the 9-21 Skyhawks were as close as 48-46, but a 16-3 run sealed the deal for Morehead State. Milton Chavis led the Eagles with 14 points, while Tennessee-Martin only managed one three-point shot the entire night. Morehead State will face Tennessee State on Thursday.
No. 6 SE Missouri State 78, Eastern Illinois 68
Tyler Stone scored 24 points with seven rebounds and Lucas Nutt chipped in with 12 assists as the Redhawks handily took care of the Panthers. SE Missouri St. shot an impressive 54.2% from the field and dominated the glass, getting 30 rebounds to Eastern Illinois' 22. The Panthers threatened to make it interesting, outscoring the Redhawks in the second half after going down, 42-29, at halftime, but the deficit was too much to overcome. SE Missouri faces Eastern Kentucky on Thursday.
Here's the complete schedule for Thursday's round of action:
No. 5 Morehead State at No. 4 Tennessee State -- 6:00 ET
No. 6 SE Missouri St. at No. 3 Eastern Kentucky -- 8:00 ET
