The Horizon League tournament concluded its second round on Friday. Only four teams remain in the hunt for the conference's automatic NCAA bid, and the top two seeds have yet to play yet. Let's recap the action from Friday:
Wright State jumped out to a 33-19 halftime lead and never gave it up, despite the Penguins' second half rally, where they outscored the Raiders 40-33. Four Wright State players finished with double-digit points, led by Miles Dixon with 14. Three pointers proved to be the difference, as the Raiders shot 7 of 13 beyond the arc, compared to just 5 of 19 for Youngstown State. Wright State will face the Detroit Titans in the semifinals.
A last-second three-pointer by Keifer Sykes secured the win in a thriller. The Phoenix and Flames went toe-to-toe for the entire game, neither team gaining a lead larger than six points. In the end, the advantage may have come down to three-pointers -- Green Bay made 8 of 18, compared to UIC's 5 of 13. The Phoenix will face the Valparaiso Crusaders on Saturday.
