2016 could be college basketball's best recruiting class ever

New, comment

The recruiting class of 2016 has been receiving some major hype. Does it live up to it?

After a busy weekend in the weird world of college basketball recruiting, Scott Phillips of NBC Sports joins the podcast to talk about what he saw on the road. Topics include:

  • Thon Maker's big weekend: Like we said last week, he's good again.
  • Evan Daniels called the class of 2016 "one of the best classes I've scouted". Jerry Meyer of 247 Sports said Josh Jackson -- ranked as low as No. 3 in some publications -- is the best shooting guard prospect he's ever scouted. So .... is the class of 2016 that good, or is this an example of early hype taking on a life of its own?
  • Jason Tatum to Duke: what do we make of Tatum's game and his commitment? Who else is Duke getting? Is Harry Giles in the bag? What about Dennis Smith and/or Frank Jackson?
  • Other big winners from the weekend: Trevon Duval and Michael Porter in the class of 2017.
