The 2016 ACC Tournament really hits its stride on Thursday, as the top four seeds get into the action in the quarterfinals following an eventful second-round slate on Wednesday.
It's hard to pick a proper headliner when there are so many big-name programs, but the No. 4 vs. No. 5 game between Notre Dame and Duke is tantalizing. The Irish won their only matchup with the Blue Devils this year, 95-91. Duke survived a tough game with NC State on Wednesday to advance to face Notre Dame.
Aside from the Notre Dame-Duke matchup, top seed North Carolina will meet Pittsburgh in the first game of the day. The first game of the night session will feature No. 2 Virginia and No. 10 Georgia Tech, which overcame an 18-point deficit to come back and beat Clemson in overtime on Wednesday night.
The bubble is more or less settled for the remaining ACC teams. Pitt is probably in with their win over Syracuse in the second round, but can certainly put things to rest with another win. As for Syracuse, it seems things could go either way for the Orange, and suffering their third loss to the Panthers this year was not a positive way to punctuate their resume.
