Virginia vs. North Carolina, ACC Tournament 2016: Time, TV schedule and live stream

A No. 1 seed could be on the line in the ACC Tournament finale.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The ACC Tournament tends to be the most exciting basketball of the postseason, and this year's version is no different. We're getting a classic battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2 when the conference's top seeds -- North Carolina and Virginia -- square off in the final round.

Neither team is in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament, but this game could end up determining which team gets a coveted No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday. Tony Bennett's Cavaliers will be looking for their second top seed in three years, while Roy Williams' Tar Heels haven't enjoyed a No. 1 spot since 2012.

Both teams are here after making quick work of their semifinal opponents. UNC steamrolled Notre Dame, 78-47, on Friday, led by 16 points from Marcus Paige and 12 from Brice Johnson. Virginia got a good fight from the Miami Hurricanes, but eventually pulled away in the second half to claim a 73-68 victory.

These teams met just once in the regular season, which happened to be the final game before the postseason began. The Cavaliers emerged as 79-74 victors at home, thanks to a big performance by Malcolm Brogdon (26 points). This time, the game will be on a neutral court in Washington D.C., but expect rabid fans from both schools to be heavily represented.

After a fun and intense tournament, the ACC gets the final result it always wanted: the two best teams, slugging it out in the final round. This is a can't-miss matchup that can and should deliver the fireworks.
