Boston College still doesn't have a win in 2016 after losing a heartbreaker to NC State

BC just can't catch a break.

It just keeps getting worse for Boston College. The Eagles appeared to have their first ACC win in sight when Jerome Robinson hit his second of two free throws to give Boston College a one-point lead over NC State in the closing seconds on Wednesday night.

Boston College HAD this. NC State was inbounding the ball under the basket with just over one second left. It would take a perfect play for the Wolfpack to steal this one.

And ... of course, it happened.

That's NC State freshman Maverick Rowan sneaking in for the game-winner at the buzzer. This is as close as BC has been all season. The Eagles still haven't won at all in the calendar year of 2016.

Only five teams in ACC history have gone winless in conference play, and Boston College only has one more opportunity (March 5 vs. Clemson) to avoid being the sixth.

Oh, and Boston College also didn't win a conference game in football this past season, either. If BC can't beat Clemson on Saturday, it will become the first team to lose every conference game in football and basketball in the same school year since TCU in 1976.
