The Sweet 16 concludes on Friday, as the NCAA Tournament moves closer toward the Final Four in Houston. Teams will play four games on Friday, setting and completing the stage for the Elite Eight.
Friday's games feature two No. 1 seeds from the ACC, North Carolina and Virginia. The Tar Heels face Indiana in one of the tournament's most history-packed affairs, while Virginia meets Iowa State in a clash between two programs have have risen to new heights in recent years but haven't yet gotten over the postseason hump. The plot lines are rich.
Elsewhere, Wisconsin faces Notre Dame, pitting the Badgers' tough defense against the Irish's explosive offense. The winner of that game faces the winner of the Tar Heels-Hoosiers game. The other Elite Eight game emerging from Friday will pit the Iowa State-Virginia winner against either Gonzaga or Syracuse, two tournament regulars who were seeded lower than usual this year but are, nonetheless, on the brink of regional finals.
