5-star guard Rawle Alkins commits to Arizona over St. John's, UNLV

The Brooklyn guard is headed to Tucson.

Sean Miller has landed another five-star recruit to Arizona. Shooting guard Rawle Alkins picked the Wildcats over St. John's and UNLV on Monday, giving Miller his second five-star recruit in the class of 2016. Alkins made his announced on ESPNU:

Alkins is the third commit in the class for Miller, joining Finnish power forward Lauri Markkanen and five-star point guard Kobi Simmons. Alkins is ranked as the No. 17 recruit in the class of 2016 by ESPN, while Simmons is ranked No. 18.

Miller has developed a reputation as one of the best recruiters in the country after landing NBA lottery picks like Aaron Gordon and Stanley Johnson in recent years. With Simmons and Alkins, Arizona will have two of the biggest and most athletic guards available in the 2016 class.

Simmons, a Brooklyn native, shot up recruiting rankings this summer to secure his status as a five-star prospect. He'll join a Wildcats backcourt that is expected to return Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Kadeem Allen, Elliott Pitts and possibly Allonzo Trier.
