Bob Huggins donates his $25,000 bonus for beating Kansas to cancer research

West Virginia beat Kansas again on Tuesday. That means Bob Huggins is donating more money to cancer research.

Bill Self must have nightmares about going to Morgantown. For the fourth straight time, West Virginia has dropped Kansas on its home floor. The Mountaineers stomped out the No. 2 Jayhawks in the second half on their way to an 85-69 victory on Tuesday.

A win against Kansas is extra sweet for Bob Huggins. Huggins’ contract calls for a $25K bonus each time he beats the Jayhawks. Huggins donates the money to cancer research in the name of his late mother, which means an extra $100K has gone to a good cause.

This continues a season full of massive highs and confusing lows for West Virginia. The Mountaineers have now defeated the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country after beating Baylor during its brief stint as the top-ranked team in the country earlier this month. West Virginia has also lost at home against a struggling Oklahoma team and on the road against Kansas State.

Esa Ahmad was the star of the night for West Virginia, finishing with 27 points.

Freshman star Josh Jackson added 22 points for Kansas in the loss.
