Clemson gave North Carolina all it could handle Tuesday night, but the Tar Heels came away with an 89-86 overtime victory. When it was over, Clemson coach Brad Brownell immediately gave North Carolina’s Roy Williams a piece of his mind. It appears that Williams was quick to apologize, but for what?
Apparently UNC’s Kennedy Meeks was taunting the Clemson bench during the final seconds:
I'm told Kennedy Meeks was yelling at Clemson's bench and that's why Brownell was giving Roy the business. Roy apologized, apparently.

More than anything, this is likely frustration boiling over for Brownell after coming so close to a signature win. Clemson had the chance to take the lead with under five seconds left, but missed a free throw before losing in OT.
The Tigers are still in good shape at 11-3, but you can understand Brownell’s angst. Clemson hasn’t made the NCAA tournament since Brownell’s first season in 2010-2011.
