Aaron Rodgers is a Wisconsin fan even though he went to Cal, but doesn’t wear red

The Packers star has a real love for the Badgers.

Aaron Rodgers played at Cal before moving on to the NFL and becoming one of the best quarterbacks of all-time for the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers has now spent 12 years in the state of Wisconsin and he’s fully embraced its culture.

That means he cheers for the Wisconsin Badgers now.

This has been the case for a while, but people still have a hard time believing it. How can a Cal alum root for Wisconsin? Well, Aaron Rodgers can do whatever he wants to do (during Sunday Night Football intros, he’s sometimes repped his JUCO, Butte Community College), and he’s always ready to remind you of it:

Rodgers has been around the program for the last few years. For some reason this still surprises people.

Here’s Rodgers and former Badgers star Sam Dekker when Wisconsin advanced to the Final Four in 2015:

And he was back in the stands for Wisconsin’s heartbreaking loss against Florida in the Sweet 16 on Friday:

And there’s a reason he’s not wearing Wisconsin red in any of those photos: that’s also the color of Stanford, Cal’s archrival.
