Celebrate, Red Raiders fans.

West Virginia’s stay as the No. 2 team in the country will be a short one. Texas Tech knocked off the Mountaineers, 72-71, in Lubbock on Saturday afternoon in a physical game that epitomizes how tough the Big 12 is this season.

Texas Tech is having arguably its best season in program history. The Red Raiders entered the game at No. 8 in the polls, its second highest ranking ever. You can bet they will be moving up now.

Senior guard Keenan Evans poured in 20 points and five rebounds in the win. Brandone Francis also gave TT a big lift with 17 points off the bench.

The Red Raiders are rolling. This win comes 11 days after they upset Kansas in Lawrence. The win moves Texas Tech to 15-2 overall and 4-1 in the Big 12.

Maybe West Virginia was already looking ahead to its Monday showdown with Kansas. The Mountaineers will have a chance to get the bad taste of this game out of their mouth against the Jayhawks.
