Brown is a long, skinny center with impressive speed and agility. He profiles as a shot block and lob target in his college career while his offensive skill set develops.
Brown is the fourth commit in the class of 2018 for Steve Alford and the Bruins. UCLA already has commitments from small forward Jules Bernard and shooting guard David Singleton III, both of whom are considered four-star, top-100 prospects. The Bruins also have a commitment from three-star center Kenny Nwuba.
Moses Brown mixtape highlights
Brown fills UCLA’s biggest need: A center to replace senior Thomas Welsh next season. Welsh is averaging 12.9 points per game this season and has developed into a truly skilled offensive big man. Brown won’t have the same type of face-up game, but he’ll give the Bruins a different dimension in terms of athleticism and length.
Brown is the No. 2 center recruit in the country according to ESPN, only behind Oregon commit Bol Bol.
