No. 13 Buffalo upset No. 4 Arizona, 89-68, in the first round of 2018’s Big Dance on Thursday night and the Bulls are bowling their way into the NCAA tournament’s second round. That’s a bad damn beat for an Arizona club that had real aspirations to rea this year’s Final Four or even beyond, while it’s a standard postseason win for Buffalo’s social media team.
Buffalo has built up something of a basketball arsenal in the past few years, and this particular season it finally paid off. Arizona really had a good chance to advance far into this year’s Big Dance and they got whipped on Thursday.
We’ll let the Bulls take it from here.
Buffalo guard C.J. Massinburg: "I saw President Obama picked Arizona in his bracket. ... Sorry President Obama, but I had to."— Tim Bontemps (@TimBontemps) March 16, 2018
Buffalo guard Wes Clark then chimes in: "He should've picked the handsome guys."
Pretty confident to brace up against Barack Obama, but completely understandable when you have the Handsome Guys who just destroyed a national powerhouse on your side. It’s important to note that Buffalo ran roughshod through the MAC this season, losing just three conference games.
Major props here to C.J. Massinburg for calling out Obama on his severely wrong pick, and further props to Wes Clark for appropriately crediting his very handsome Buffalo teammates. This is handsome March, after all.
Coincidentally, Clark scored a game high of 25 points in the Bulls’ upset win, so he can say pretty much whatever he wants. Even to a former President of the United States.
