Thomas Johnson Decommits From Texas Longhorns And Will Visit Oregon Ducks

Texas loses receiver recruit Thomas Johnson.

Thomas Johnson, one of the top receivers in the country, has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns, per Burnt Orange Nation. Johnson stars for Dallas Skyline and is widely considered one of the top ten receivers in the country. Johnson had been committed to Texas since February 21st of 2011.

The 5'11", 175 pound Johnson is all about speed. He's extremely elusive in the open field and his quickness off the lines makes it very difficult to play press coverage against him.

Texas recruiting expert Wescott Eberts on the story:

Multiple reports that Skyline WR Thomas Johnson has de-committed from Texas. Will visit Oregon, Cal, TCU.

Expect Texas to take another look at Baylor commit Corey Coleman and TCU commit Daje Johnson. Will likely offer one of them.

The real story here seems to be Oregon. Rumors swirled all week during the Under Armour All-America game that Johnson wanted to visit Oregon. He confirmed those rumors earlier in the week.

Eberts' tweets also suggests that Johnson will not recommit to Texas, though SB Nation has been unable to confirm that.
