Jalen Ramsey, a top cornerback recruit, committed to the USC Trojans Monday.

Ramsey stars for Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy. He chose USC over offers from Auburn, Clemson, Mississippi, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Washington, with Vanderbilt making a strong push late.

Ramsey was a consensus four-star recruit and a borderline top-100 player nationally as of mid-June, but an exceptional performance at The Opening in early July has him shooting up recruiting boards on all four of the major services.

Ramsey is a large corner at 6'0 and 190 pounds. He has great length and very good quickness. Those attributes helped him to stick with Ricky Seals-Jones, the top receiver nationally, at The Opening. Known for his ability to press, Ramsey wowed analysts with his ability to turn and run with receivers in a camp setting that does not lend itself to physical play.

USC now sits at 15 commitments, almost all of which are rated in the top-five nationally at their respective positions. Ramsey joins USC corner recruit Chris Hawkins and safety Su'a Cravens to form an awesome secondary.

Due to NCAA sanctions, the Trojans can take a maximum of only 18 players in 2013.
