Saturday night's battle between Auburn and Clemson in the Georgia Dome was about more than seeing which team could quickly adapt to the system of their new defensive coordinators. And despite the three-game set being tied at 1-1, the game was more than a rubber match.
That's because taking in the game was Montravius Adams (photo), the top defensive tackle recruit nationally out of Vienna (Ga.) Dooly County. Adams is thought to be favoring both Clemson and Auburn, with Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan State also in the picture.
Adams sat on the Auburn side near Tiger commitment Reuben Foster and other Auburn pledges. Here's what he had to say about Auburn (247sports, $):
"They need some more work on offense and defense. They need some more guys to help them."
"I like a lot about Auburn. I like the coaches. But I need to hang out with the players and see how they really live. I like them a lot, though."
Adams has always maintained that he will take his visits and decide around signing day. There's no indication that his plans have changed.
