Dontavius Russell, a four-star defensive tackle out of Carrollton High School (Ga.), committed to Auburn on Friday afternoon. He originally committed to Georgia, though he opened up his recruitment in early December to continue weighing his options.
Russell is now a member of the nation's No. 6 recruiting class, according to 24/7Sports' composite rankings. He's rated by most major services as one of the top 15 defensive tackle prospects in the 2014 recruiting class, and is among the top 20 overall recruits in the talent-rich state of Georgia.
Russell sent out a tweet on Friday to announce he had committed to Auburn, and became another in a long line of recruits to mix up the name of his new school. It's okay, Dontavius, we all know what you meant.
