Reuben Foster commit announcement set for Monday: Alabama favored?

The five-star linebacker prospect from Auburn, Ala., is reportedly deciding between Crimson Tide and hometown Tigers.

The long, strange recruitment of Reuben Foster is scheduled to come to an end Monday, when the five-star linebacker prospect announces his choice. Fox Sports South's "Next Class" will cover the event, set to begin at 10 a.m. ET.

Foster, who is ranked as the nation's top inside linebacker recruit by Rivals, has been chased by most of the SEC. In July 2011, before the start of his junior season, he committed to Alabama. Just over a year later, Foster flipped his commitment to Auburn. After his senior season -- and Gene Chizik's firing -- he decommitted from Auburn and opened it up to everyone. Georgia, LSU, and San Diego State have entered the fray since then.

Things took a turn for the surreal this weekend when, while reportedly on his official visit at Auburn, Foster turned up on the Alabama campus. While Auburn had always figured to be a hometown favorite in the race for his signature, Alabama has to believe this very public defection is a good sign for them on Monday.
