Dominick Jackson commits to UCLA: Bruins land top JUCO offensive lineman

Jackson will immediately compete for a starting job.

USA TODAY Sports

Wednesday was a very good day indeed for UCLA, as the Bruins reeled in a commitment from Dominick Jackson, arguably the best junior college offensive lineman in the country. Jackson, of the College of San Mateo (Calif.), chose the Bruins over offers from Arizona State, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, USC and Washington.

Suffice to say, Jackson is very, very good.

What makes him worthy of those offers? It's the size and athleticism combination. Jackson is 6'7 and 305 pounds, yet moves like someone 20 pounds lighter. This gives him the ability to handle speed rushers off the edge.

Jackson is the third commitment of the 2014 class for the Bruins. He was recruited by superstar recruiter and offensive line coach, Adrian Klemm.
