Ohio State fans knew that they got a good one when five-star cornerback Shaun Wade committed in mid-January. He showed up at The Opening regional in Orlando hoping to showcase his skills.
A 6'2 cornerback from Jacksonville and the 11th-ranked 2017 recruit in the nation, Wade told SB Nation's Bud Elliott that he is "100 percent committed" to the Buckeyes, though he is still talking to other schools. Assuming nothing changes with his status, he'll bring a lot to Columbus.
What's the best part about his game?
"I've got length and I'm fast," Wade said. "I've got good feet for a tall corner. Guarding tall receivers, I'm quick with them and fast with them."
As a tall corner, Wade is able to stay with tall receivers in the red zone. His also quickness allows him to do different things in different defenses.
"Getting picks, and covering and getting somebody hit," he said of his favorite parts of his game.
When in zone, Wade said he likes baiting quarterbacks into throwing interceptions. When in man, he enjoys sticking with receivers.
