It’s decision day for 2018 TE recruit Mustapha Muhammad, and he’s decided Michigan is the right school for him. The talented prospect chose between five schools: UCLA, Texas, Michigan, Clemson, and LSU. He’s the No. 5 TE in the 247Sports Composite.
Muhammad is a really big pass-catching target with a well-built lower body. At 6’4” 235, he’s got a frame that looks well put together to add some good weight in a college strength program. He’s also shown a capability to block:
His abilities appeal to Michigan especially with the way the Wolverines play offense. He immediately makes Jim Harbaugh’s haul more impressive.
Muhammad is the 15th player to commit to Michigan’s 2018 class and is the second-highest rated player right behind OG Emil Ekiyor, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He is also the second tight end to commit to the Wolverines’ 2018 class, as they already drew a commitment from 3-star tight end Luke Schoonmaker back in July.
With Muhammad off the board, it leaves only two of the top-15 players at the position available. Grabbing an elite tight end can be a game-changer for an offense. We’ll see if Mustapha becomes that for Michigan.
