After seven weeks, the BCS' first Top 25 rankings have the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida Gators up top, followed by the Oregon Ducks. This makes it 13 weeks in a row that a SEC team has held down the top spot and, of course, Bama's own second week in a row. Florida hasn't been to the Top 5 since 2009. For the Ducks, it's their highest ranking since their national title bid in 2010.
Both of the top two teams have potentially challenging road games up next, with Bama heading to Knoxville for the Third Saturday in October and Oregon getting Arizona State on the road this Thursday night. As always, mayhem looms, whether it arrives via these games or otherwise.
Elsewhere, K-State makes its highest BCS showing since the system's second year in 1999, while Notre Dame hasn't been ranked this high since November of 2006. And how about the Big East putting in three while the Big Ten gets shut out?

Also, just for comparison, here's this week's full Associated Press Top 25, which does not factor into the BCS standings (but does include Ohio State, which isn't eligible for the postseason this year):
